This page explains how to delete your Voc'iz account and the data attached to it. It is reachable without installing the app and without signing in.
This is the quickest route, and it requires no written request.
Deletion is immediate and irreversible. There is no grace period, no temporary deactivation and no way back: a new account created with the same address starts from nothing.
Write to [email protected] from the email address of the account to be deleted, with "account deletion" as the subject.
That requirement is not a formality: an account is identified by its email address, and accepting a request from any other address would let anyone have a third party's account deleted. If you no longer have access to that address, say so — we will ask for other details establishing that the account is yours.
We handle the request within 30 days at most, in accordance with Article 12 GDPR, and confirm the deletion by return email.
The detail is in § 7 of our privacy policy, which is authoritative. In short, the following are permanently erased: your email address, your password, your name and picture, your preferences, all of your progress, sessions and word lists, your sign-in tokens, your devices' notification tokens, your friends, your group memberships and the invitations you sent.
We would rather say so here than leave it to be discovered. Where you took part in a challenge, the participation row and the score remain, detached from your identity: your name and your account go, and the row becomes anonymous. A challenge belongs to its other participants too, and erasing your row would rewrite a ranking they finished.
Likewise, an invitation link you had created for a group simply stops being attached to you: the group belongs to its other members too, and any of them can disable the link.
Neither then carries any information that identifies you.
